        @X0FYou've seen a 6.1 quake before (yes, that one in Bellingham)
but you are taken aback by this one.  @X02Rats scurry in broad daylight
in the street and you realize that flooding gas mains under the buildings
have driven them from the sewers.  Everywhere is the stench of sewage and
decay.  The sweet cloying smell of ripe melons assaults your senses as you
pass what was--only hours before--an open-air Farmer's Market.  An angry
swarm of flies now sucks up what little remains of what was once sweet and
wholesome.

        @X0FBile backs up in your throat as you see the dead and the wounded.
@X02An arm protrudes from between two giant slabs of concrete . . . you look
away.  It occurs to you that this quake was MUCH smaller than the NorthRidge
and Loma Prieta quakes, but the damage is still VERY extensive.  Someone
calls out to you and you catch yourself daydreaming.  It is now time to
help save some of the dying victims before the rats can get at them . . .
